There's being an official brand rep/influencer, where you get paid to promote their products and/or lots of free products, in which case you usually have to sign a contract agreeing not to disparage the company or their products.
Product reviewers are typically not brand reps, but people who either buy the product, or get donated products or early access to them by the company. In this case it's down to the specific company and situation. I don't do product reviews, but typically most reviewers would not agree to do a review in which there are stipulations that prevent being able to talk honestly about the product.
