It makes you wonder, which social network allows political speech and has political sway and impact on the government? The answer, as it stands, remains X/Twitter.
Replicating this into another social network is worth 44 billion dollars. And frankly, while the Fediverse is a great "technology", it fails to address Bots and Identity.
In other words, any network, regardless of technology, that fails to have human-to-human interactions is doomed to fail.
We must consider this aspect and build it into the protocol from the ground up. Traffic volume means shit if bots produce it, and the Readership-to-Content ratio skews far off.
Readers bring money, and content brings readers; therefore, content has to be wholesome. And the "Tipping" culture being built here is contributing to that.
