They track how long you look at certain posts, what exactly grabs your attention, what ads work and what ads don't work, et cetera. Today, most users use Twitter through a mobile app, and those actually log literally every singled fucking thing that happens while they are active. You seem to significantly underestimate how advanced targeted advertisement tech is.
