A lot of the attitudes about Palestinians seem to boil down to racism, this notion that some huge fraction of them are extremists and that they "did it to themselves". I've been trying to share information about the exit polls from the 2006 election with people, because I found that rather eye opening, but I'm not really sure it's done any good.
I suspect the thing that will ultimately convince people is the rising chorus of voices speaking out. Eventually they'll come across someone they respect speaking out about it, and that'll change their minds.
