I have a question for the software #accessibility community: it seems to me like the ability to embed "alt text" descriptions directly in media files would be good, yes? So they would persist when reused? But of course media files typically don't support any such thing.

What about leveraging open source steganography tools? Has this been discussed? Fedi apps (and others) could use these tools to encode and decode/read the descriptions directly into media files (links in second post)
