#WritersCoffeeClub Ch 13 Nbr 23 — Ursula K Le Guin said that Earthsea began when she drew a map. What's your starting point?

Varies. Never a map, though. An interesting situation for a character? A strange idea. A frustration with society I'd like to show to readers?

I can relate about one story: I wanted to write a story about a kind loving shy person with the ability to communicate well only with non-humans. Then I saw a short writing prompt that actually read, "Inking." With my unique type of dyslexia, I instead read "Inklings." I immediately thought of people with ink. Tattoos. An antagonist with tattoos (rare where they live) mistaking the colorful scars on the protagonist as also being tattoos. A story was born! #RSInklingsStory
