Nice thing with the new part time job is that it's in an industry that does art, but using a particularly technical process. So when the boss asks why a 3D print has failed (I'm still learning their machines a bit), they understand "the speed affects the thickness affects the cooling rate affects the adhesion affects the..." stuff, because they also work in multivariable problems like that, where you can't realistically *solve*, but you can *optimise*.
Got the basics of reliability now though.
