I used to be an ambulance driver & most employers made me take mapless navigation tests. Very fetch-based thinking.

Similar to aircraft pilots, we were taught to operate with a set of if-then propositions, very little actual "thinking" taking place. There's something immensely satisfying about being in that mode of performance. It's like ambiguity disappears.

It feels like that might be the key part of it. Operating in the absence of ambiguity must be good for brains. 🌸
