Literacy has also increased world-wide, as has access to medical care. I would also venture that life under the Civil Rights Act in the US is better than life before it for POC. In no way am I saying that we are all enjoying equality, but except for uncontacted tribes in the Amazon, I do believe life has improved for mankind in the context of my post.
