Streams uses the Nomad protocol to talk to Streams.
Streams uses the Zot Protocol to talk to Hubzilla.
Streams uses ActivityPub to talk to everyone else.
Hubzilla uses Zot to talk to Hubzilla
Hubzilla uses Zot to talk to Streams
Hubzilla uses ActivityPub (if enabled) to talk to ActivityPub-enabled sites.
Hubzilla also has other protocols (if enabled) that can talk to other projects.
Both projects use OpenWebAuth, and can remotely authenticate on each other's website. This allows commenting directly on the website, as well as edit wikis, articles, webpages, and anything else allowed by the admin or channel owner.
