Simple explanation indeed.

My impression is that you can be as public or anonymous as you want while you use Nostr. They may not like what you say, and they can unfollow you, but they can’t shut you up or edit you across the pure Nostr clients.

This leads to me realizing that we need headless, honorable, open source clients out there with great UX for use by all, because since Nostr is a protocol, the clients are going to be perceived to be the platforms as adoption occurs. This is where people in charge may be targeted by the same powers that are arresting coin mixer devs and Telegram CEOs.
