As a multilingual family, we love ebooks. They offer (in theory) the possibility of plentiful reading material in Japanese, Spanish and English, while living in either of our home countries.

In reality, the artificial constraints of copyright and DRM make it practically impossible to legally build a collection of books in more than a single language. The shops can't comprehend that you might want to swap between languages in the same account or device.
