Two decades ago, I rode with a group of straight bikers. I was the first openly gay man most of these guys had knowingly met.
I remember siting in some roadside side bar in the middle of the day’s ride. I laughed at them for their leering at the buxom waitress.
I told them that beards are for me what big tits are to them. It took them a moment to digest that, but then, suddenly, as if choreographed, a half dozen bearded bikers raised their hands to shield their beards.
The leerers became the leered.
Many seemed uncomfortable with me for the next couple rides. Eventually, they started to lean into it and they would tease and flirt with me with their beards.
It was wonderful.
