What has to happen for average people in developed Westerm countries to realize that the reason they're working harder for less, that life is increasingly less affordable, is that the money is broken? How broken does it have to get?
I suppose that the history of Argentina can inform us. It has to get to tripple digit inflation, a hopeless debt spiral with exploitative international loans, currency controls, utterly disfunctional business environment, housing crisis, widespread poverty, before enough people are ready to try something different. 🙁
#Bitcoin allows some people -- the curious ones with open minds -- to skip the decades of misery step, and go directly to something different, while everyone else around them declines and suffers.
With the speed of the digital era, however, maybe the fall of the fiat money system will be accelerated so that the period of misery is much shorter than we've witnessed in the countries who have experienced hyperinflation since WWI.
