Proposed NIP-69 - Defined vocabulary for content warning and reporting.
I just submitted a PR for a new nip, given the topic, we chose NIP-69. It's about defining how content that might be objectionable is categorized and labeled.
The primary work of this was done by s3x_JAY (npub1vee…38wt) who’s working on the s3x.social project.
This should make it easier for clients and relay operators to understand content reports as they come in, and respond to them. We believe we have covered many of the categories of content that some users would like to see a warning on or filter out or understand when content is reported. By creating an open standard for clearly being able to label content, either your own, or through reporting, others, we can create a space by which there are many standards for what is acceptable in your app or on your relay, or with your personal experience.
The goal is to allow relay operators to be able to legally run in jurisdictions which strong limitations on free speech like the United States (FOSTA/SESTA) or Germany (Nazi Propaganda / Hate Speech). It should also allow users to opt-in to a version of nostr which is entirely PG. While at the same time, enabling broad self governance & free speech. https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/457
