I mean... I'll definitely agree that the money gets abused to reinforce a societal structure that supports an elite class at our expense. But it's just disingenuous to try to claim it doesn't fund society. All the following is directly financed by your tax dollars:

- Invention of the internet, which you're using to post anti-tax memes
- Roads you can drive faster than 20 mph on
- Clean water in your plumbing
- Electrical grid, maybe, depending on where you are
- Subsidized food so you can afford to eat
- If you live in a competent country, healthcare
- Military that keeps you from needing to learn Russian or Chinese
- Scientific research, a LOT of it, much of which results in goods you quite enjoy

Indirectly, a ton of goods you can buy that wouldn't be economically feasible to ship without good roads.

I came up with this list as fast as I could type it out, and if I was willing to stop and think for 5 minutes, I could double it in length again. There's plenty of reason to dislike how our taxes are spent, especially in the US compared to other modern nations, but society as we know it today simply would not exist without taxes.
