#algebra #math question:
Please, does anyone here know what is the name for the algebraic structure with the following binary operation?
1.) Asociative (possibly not commutative)
2.) Identity id exists
3.) Unique difference, i.e. a*b =d & a*c=d => b=c
4.) Only growing, i.e. a*b*c=a => b=c=id
This came up when I tried to define "composition" abstractly, e.g. set union has these properties, but so does joining two pictures together side by side any many others.
