npub1a24du94u4g23g0ld4klnq29fslj7ze39qxuh35e4vazdvvu2886q4ketnp (npub1a24…etnp) This is an interesting argument, and also one that I had not considered. That makes me curious, though. Instead of pressing the point such that it escalated to calling the police, why didn't the people who didn't want to be filmed just move out of camera range? I mean, they asked nicely, and when the filmmaker said, "no", why not just move somewhere that the camera wouldn't catch them? If they're in another country, especially one where the people there are (likely) unaware of these consequences of being filmed, why continue to press the point and remain in camera view for nearly 30 minutes and involve authorities? And also why not say why they don't want to be filmed to give the filmmaker the necessary context?

I agree that Dr. K was being a bit of an asshole here and pressing the issue. But I also believe that if they had left the space in which he was doing his filming, there wouldn't have been any issue at all. It's not like they had to stand right there and couldn't move because it was a central, open space.

I'm very curious to know what your wife's perspective is on that, and whether there's even more cultural significance to the escalated response, especially since it was a livestream and their images were already out on the internet.
