I get that recording artists dislike it when political campaigns they don’t support use their recordings, but so long as the ASCAP/SOCAN/etc. fees are paid, their complaints are performative nonsense designed to appease disappointed fans. Musicians have no right to restrict who can play their recordings. Personally, I take a dim view of any media outlets breathlessly reporting this silliness; they know better.
