The post below just shows how much people don't understand what is happening on #nostr.
1: There is no audience to "own", only other people to communicate with. If you say something interesting/useful/enjoyable, other people may choose to zap you. Simple, clean, ethical.
2: There is no need for "closer channels". You already have a direct channel to people who follow you. So, individuals can provide value for value and middlemen like you mikerama (npub1kje…4x4r) are irrelevant.

quoting note1mky…9rp7What is the nostr equivalent of creators collecting phone numbers and emails…?
Let me explain:
On apps like Instagram/TikTok/YouTube, many creators will attempt to take their audience off platform and eventually capture some info like name, email, phone number.
This allows creators to:
1. Own their audience (reducing platform risk)
2. Have closer communication channels with their audience
With nostr, it’s apparent to me that Number 1 is solved for…
But what about number 2.
What exists for this today?
Some form of community, more direct communication, super-follow, etc.
Does something like this exist? Is there even a need for this here?
