"Silly as a goose."

I suppose sometimes geese do seem funny, with their nasalized honk and waddling gait.

But this morning they were noble, stately, as they gracefully glided through the water. Like the dawn itself they were silent, calm, beginning their day without hurry or fanfare.

Not a bit of silliness about that.
