I’ve always felt like a contrarian in tech who’s been skeptical to downright cynical about some of the practices in the industry in the face of relentless hype about changing the world and unicorns.

However now that the cynicism seems justified from the impsct of AI on livelihoods to how tech worker fortunes have changed, I actually feel a need to be more optimistic about the industry.

We’ve done and do dumb things but we’ve done and do some amazing things as well.
