right, to stay safely within signed int64 range it could grow ~4000 times beyond 21 million BTC
if satoshi wouldn't have bothered with halvings (fixed emission like monero), bitcoin could still go on for ~35000 years before hitting that
with exponential growth it's more fraught, i remember some early altcoins that had very wild emission schemes and would run into problems, there was even one (Freicoin, i think) that used bigints throughout at the get-go to avoid this
