The numerous demigods within the cosmos are simply the governing agents of the material affairs within the creation. They are not the Supreme Person; i.e., God. Demigods are acting as public officials in service to the Supreme Godhead. One who is in God consciousness at all times is known as a demigod, life after life. Nowhere in the Vedic Literature will you ever find more than one God. It is clearly stated throughout that Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, or Govinda is the Source of all incarnations.
