Hubs is a collector and audiophile for certain music. He started during the vinyl-only era, hence LOTS of those. Some artists, he has their complete works -- some released during the CD era and not in vinyl -- so the CD collection grew. Plus some dupes as CDs wore out less than vinyl. Everything is backed up on digital, and digital is great for travel. But new vinyl is showing up in the house for 2 reasons -- 1 is the cool colours/artwork now being printed on many vinyl records. Then there is there is still a certain quality from vinyl you don't get from CDs or digital. We also have a device that filters out hisses from older, slightly damaged vinyl that makes for great quality. Vinyl also often comes with extra notes, lyrics, sometimes posters, etc. that can't be packaged with the other formats.
People who collect #vinyl tend to invest in good systems to play it on.
