■バロク(Baroque)・The demonym for Baroco people, undead beings sometimes called Humans. Originally a corpse, the body is immortal as long as the body has a will (a soul), and they will rise again from the dead again and again. However, the Human god's curse will slowly turn Humans into monsters; a disease gained at birth or soul's possession of a corpse, called the Twilight or Cicatrix, which will eventually force the soul out of the body and into another corpse, losing memory of the past life. There are temporary relief medicines for the Twilight to slow the disease, but there is no cure.
The prevalent image of Baroque are pale blue hair and red eyes, and will share many resemblances regardless of relation, along with markings of the Stigmata and disease of Twilight. Some Baroque may differ in color, and are called "Accursed" or "Odd color" Baroque, a very rare occurrence. There are only a few Baroque towns that consider certain odd color Baroque normal, but is only a special exception, and dependent on the region of Baroco.
Baroque from the East→to have black, pale grey or white hair and eyes. Sometimes brown hair or eyes. Rarely, light or deep blue eyes.
Baroque from the South→to have pale blue or a light blue color of hair, and yellow or white eyes. Rarely, light blue eyes.
Baroque from the North→to have white or light purple hair and eyes. Sometimes yellow hair or brown eyes.
Baroque from the West→to have light green, yellow or brown hair.
Normally, odd color Baroque are treated as outsiders or monsters, with suspicion and hostility. All of Baroco have an unfortunate history of encountering deadly monsters which love to make mimicry, although cannot make a perfect imitation, of a Human. These type of monsters have a lengthy history of placing curses upon their people, coercion, impersonation, stealing children, killing, and much worse. In particular, East Baroco believe odd color Baroque to be a curse from a god and treat them warily. South Baroco have no tolerance for odd color Baroque, displacing the odd color out of South Baroco regardless of their birth right.
Red hair and vibrant color are considered abnormal by all Baroque. Red hair is known as a trait of an ARCHON class monster, or an illness known as the 'Marcesco', and associated with the legend of "the Lord of Scarlet, Shemhazai", who was described to have red hair, but is not considered a fact, as the legend itself has been lost to time. Dark blue hair is also unnatural, known as a trait of a half breed child of an ARCHON class monster and Baroque. Half-breeds of this kind are known as another class of monster called Abomination.

Supposedly markings for those who've earned souls, they are completely black in color and cannot be removed by any means. The stigmata pattern is sometimes different, but the location is always the same. Black necks, a cross on the palm, the rib cage (for males there are only six markings), rarely the arms or the back, and cracked markings near the feet. The lines and dark markings on the eyes found on Baroque faces are caused from the curse of Twilight.
