We are molding our diets according to some principles.
And, we do the same with our tech.
Making our diets, health routines and coffee feels the same as the type of bike I ride and the tech I employ in my daily life. Do you have that feeling?
Every time I am faced with using some corporate marketed tech, learning to catch the incoming and processing it before just following is a crucial process for where we are heading. Yes, I use a keyboard because I like it. And, I love command line. Each day learning a command on command line in my daily flow makes me feel like I got to a new stage of Ashtanga Yoga. Yah dig?
Since 2019, I have been building my own completely open software stack across any found computers. THis is due to various challenges I faced from being in Hong Kong and my work in innovation, global lifestyle (much longer stories there ;)
As I sit here, I am happy to be using a Macbook Pro 2012, Chrome Lenovo Tablet 10e refurbished from micro center in STL, Android Nokia (cheapest phone could buy in STL), and iPhone latest simplest best version because that is what most people in the business and art world CAN see.
But, if anything happens to any of my found tech, within minutes I can have my self-controlled tech set back up and running. My work continues.
All these hardware are possessed by my software stack and the general rule is to not change the host operating system. I have a few completely-replaced-with-Linux computers in STL, and have more of a plan there for how we may proceed.
Are you prepared for the shortages coming? What bout the next pandemic?
