Aggressors of Dark Kombat (originally released in 1994)
An obscure fighter that tries to marry fighting games to beat 'em ups, such as being able to move up and down as well as pick up weapons mid-combat. Comes with some quirks, like needing to press a button to jump, a very annoying thing to get used to if you've played other 2D fighters.
Calling the game 'great' might be a smidge generous, but it's competent, and interestingly different for a fighter.
