Tomita and colleagues at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium have produced several papers relating to their research in using artificial uteruses to gestate lantern shark embryos. In a paper published earlier this year, they report gestating some embryos for 360 days - almost an entire year! Lantern shark pregnancy lasts about a year and a half, so that's about two thirds of an average gestation period spent in an artificial womb.
