The Master said: "When one composes [works of literature], the detractors will always hew more closely than any adulators. Those who hate the poet (騷客) will never stop saying his name, while the common man will exult in the words for a moment and move on. The philosophers' (達人) followers will put down the books after ruminating and return to their work, while the critic will carry them constantly to find some new avenue of derision. Surely, a disparager [disorderedly] loves the author more than their most zealous enthusiasts."
