My Kindle bricked itself a year ago and no amount of clever troubleshooting could bring it back to life, so I tossed it on a shelf and forgot about it. Last night, I plugged it into a charger to see what would happen before putting it in my electronics recycling pile. That stupid Kindle charged up and works again. Apparently “let it sit for a year" is a valid troubleshooting step for Amazon products.
