just a note about the choice of rubenstein interviewing powell (since this is mostly theatre): rubenstein truly symbolizes the rot in the american political economy, having used his middling political career to build a DC based PE firm with a mandate to leverage political relationships to make billions. a personal aside, his PE firm, Carlyle, bought and sold my employer years ago and did nothing but lever it up and extract value, not an uncommon story obviously.
