Part of why I feel like I struggle to enjoy any of the more recent Fire Emblem games is just the inclusion of casual and phoenix mode, and while I always pick classic or above, I just think that none of these modes are fit for purpose anymore.
Classic's permadeath just sucks, casual and phoenix mode trivialize the game so much there might as well not be a game. FE needs to move away from these modes and experiment with different penalty systems.
