npub176reqm4458av8tqp0wdnwc6wg2ma3dfcxpsf0unpzs2k5d95fwgsyfy7cj (npub176r…y7cj) I agree, and things are even worse when it comes to corporate compliance. I wish I could just dist-upgrade to 24.04 next month. From what I’ve seen on the Palo Alto/GlobalProtect forums, they only released their client for 22.04 somewhere around last autumn. So it’s likely that we’ll have to wait 1-2 more years before the new LTS also becomes compliant™. I don’t even want to imagine what it’s going to be like to run a distro with software that may be ~3-4 years old by then (so much for “we want to increase your security”). By then I’ll probably have compiled most of the software from sources, including the libc, and my system may look more like Gentoo than Ubuntu.
