I think much of the organized left everywhere has realized nobody is coming to save us and we've been focusing on our own immediate survival issues, like trying to prevent anti-trans laws from harming children. Also, neoliberal parties will openly attack us if we try to organize in their tent (see how important and organized collective action groups like BLM, Sunrise org, etc get dismissed).

So voting is harm reduction but, with no truly left candidates, not as important in leftists minds as it is in the minds of people who vote but don't engage in activism. This does not mean we don't recognize harm reduction, it just means we don't think Starmer or Biden do much more than buy us a bit of time but they also pave the way for popular disappointment at neoliberal policies and then even more fascism in reaction to that. It's a depressing political dynamic and cycle but I am heartened by Corbyn and Abbott winning their seats in the UK election and very glad they didn't allow themselves to be silence by Starmer, despite his heroic efforts to destroy the social justice parts of Labour.
