I agree that continuously-variable timezones present unique challenges for some uses. Everybody (that travels) would need a GPS device to know the local time and knowing somebody else's local time would be nightmarishly complex. UTC would be the only useful way to schedule meetings. Local time would only be useful for things like opening hours. But shitcanning hours and minutes would just mean replacing them with different units such as kiloseconds or millidays.
