Cooperative Baptist fellowship broke away from the SBC after SBC made its rightward turn. You might find David Gushee’s book about leaving evangelicalism interesting to read, because it comments on that history, and his experience with both SPC and CBF. Though CBF presents itself as a liberal alternative to SBC, Gushee found it in many ways less than optimal — and I agree with his assessment.",
