In the 70s in Ontario, Canada, every winter we made snow caves strong enough to crawl around in. In the 80s I had a friend who knew how to build igloos and I sometimes commuted from school to work on the Ottawa Canal by ice skate. Even 8 years ago in Montreal, we went almost 6 months with temperatures never rising over freezing.
The idea of a major RAIN storm in January in those places. It's exactly what I've worked about as others said to relax, that won't happen till 2100.
