I use a VPN connection persistently when I am not connected to our home network, but only to route the traffic back through my home network.
I don’t - currently - route traffic exiting my home network through a VPN, as I have no need to do so.
But I can see myself looking for a small box in a data centre somewhere else in the world, as a WireGuard server, some point soon.
