Bridgerton was created and is produced a black woman, who is an unlikely candidate for "whitewashing" history.
The show occupies an alternate history in which people from Africa or of African descent face discrimination and yet attain equality, creating a post-racial society. It seems like an odd stance to disallow as "racially correct" alternate histories in which racism is overcome.
