I remember pocket calculators working under artificial light, but not very well and the screens would often dim. That was with incandescent bulbs (I haven't owned a solar powered calculator for a long time) and a modern LED bulb has around a tenth of the total EM output, much more closely focused on the visible spectrum. What wavelengths to these panels use? How well do they work under CFL or LED bulbs vs incandescent?
