So I recently made a change to how my media servers access files. I set ACLs to deny access to /mnt/storage, my mass storage drive where everything is stored. I added ACLs to the media folders to allow read only access for jellyfin/plex users, then bind mount the "movies" and "shows" folders into subfolders of /mnt/mediaserver. This allows the subordinate ACLs to give read permissions to /mnt/mediaserver/, without letting those users see the rest of the drive. 1/
