Diyana on Nostr: ...
The most challenging thing of October for me turned out to be finally starting to feel an increasing sense of isolation and absence of community. Early 2023 I left the country for what was supposed to be a 6 week journey that ended up with me spending all of 2023 abroad. Upon returning in California at the start of 2024 I felt a huge resistance and made the conscious decision to not return to my little town and community I've lived for 8+ year before 2023 and instead explore other areas and be a nomad for a few different reasons. But I think last month it started to hit hard and I finally started to feel super lonely away from mostly any sort of community in as nomad in frequent motion mostly in the greater bay area 🥺 I think partly also because fall is a super happening month (though my little town never really stops and even when I am a super hard core hermit hybertlnating in the winter I still have had a sense of closeness). I was receiving invitations from my medicine family coming for the first time in 4 years back to the main land to serve medicine, I was remembering about how much I love my friend's benefit casbah evenings and shortly after receiving the invite for this year's and later watching videos of the amazeball of an event it was, and also how just Halloween and samhain are like the highlight of events in our town.
So tonight I am kind of in this mood... Just watching #throwback videos of this gorgeous gathering with a pocket of my community my "oracle medicine family" gathered here for an anscestral feast today two years ago. So much goodness and richness.
Feeling #nostalgic.
In this particular event there was something like 40 different anscestral dishes one being a 400 year old Irish chocolate cake recipe. 🤤 (Most of which I didn't participate as a carnivore but still super fucking awesome)
