npub1qzc8ejmflltq5uuwmvurfcfd4l96t6np6c8fzgj9l2rdfheadydshtyetl (npub1qzc…yetl) Canadian mainstream media outlets treated last summer's fires like a "one off" "once in a century" event, discussions on mainstream news were palliative and looking forward to a year when the fires aren't as bad. Most news I saw took pains to not mention fossil fuels at all, and heavily emphasized "uncertainty" when talking about the science, which they *never* do when talking about economics.
I'm expecting next summer to be the same: shell-shocked people fleeing wildfires and floods, government and media "hoping" next year will be better despite canada doing nothing.
