you know, one thing that has always bothered me regarding male violence is the demonization of testosterone. people like to say that higher T levels make you more violent and i feel like that reduces some accountability. if men are more violent because of a hormone they can't control - then is it really the fault of men for being violent? It kinda breaks down there. if violent people are expected to have accountability, to go to things like anger management classes to be less violent it's counterproductive to place the blame on their hormone levels. one can control their actions. I have bipolar disorder, with hypersexuality as a wonderful symptom and you don't find me sexually harassing people all the time because it's "out of my control" and "a hormonal issue".
