I wasn't sold on using cardboard to control weeds, and wood chips isn't a thing I can get here. Forgot to move a pile of dried banana leaves off a patch of vigorous grass and found the solution I needed 🤯

I've been shredding the large dry leaves and mulching new beds with a thick layer to block sunlight warming the soil, and it has been doing a great job over the last month.
