Food is an energy exchange. How we view our food is equally as important as the quality of it.

Do your meals make you feel good? Do your meals make you happy? Do you look forward to cooking and eating and nourishing yourself? What foods are you drawn to? What foods do you always want to have? Do you eat things because you think you "should" eat them? Do you eat things because someone else eats them and you want to be like them?

These questions may seem quite in depth, but it's important for us to cultivate our own nutrition based on our unique life, environment, pleasures, and goals.

I will always promote food from a local, regenerative farmer. I will always promote eating seasonally and locally because it is a way to sync with nature and to our immediate surroundings. It is a way to be connected to the land we live near. And the life force of local, seasonal food will far outweigh the life force of store-bought, cross-continental foods.

Sure you can reference literature all day and find things to fear about every type of food or type of diet. The noise will tell you to only eat meat, stop eating veggies, eat more veggies, avoid pork, fear fruit, cut carbs, seafood has heavy metals, BLAH BLAH BLAH.

The beliefs you hold and the thoughts you think and the feelings you feel about your food is what will make the impact. If you subconsciously program yourself to listen to the noise, you will likely manifest those exact reactions and responses in your body.

But remembering that the joys of certain foods may far outweigh the dogmatic strict diet approaches. What works for your body may not work for someone else! Embrace what feels good for you. Listen to YOUR unique body. Relinquish living in fear.
