I'm reading this article I wrote 5 years ago.. I find it still very relevant.. the only thing that changed is that EU providers have slightly grown (10% or 50% depending on the case) under 5B$ while AWS has done 4x to almost 100B$ and Azure has almost caught up AWS. The gap has widen and we have lost control of technology in Europe. Open Source is more than ever necessary to get back control.
