Random IT systems question for the Fediverse. I'm looking to put a Linux machine (12 year old Mac with Ubuntu on it 🤪 ) off site at one of the kids' for a secondary data backup. My plans are currently just to pick up a large external USB disk on Black Friday sales and rsync with everything here through a tunnel. I know it will work but curious on if I should do something more robust than the external USB disk... What are people using nowadays? (will be limited to whatever a 12 year old all-in-one Mac can connect externally, USB or FireWire). #backup #linux #admin
