In abscence of funding, it is hard for people to trust "the thing" and adopt it widely.
I'll mention Django-Admin2 which, I would argue is a somewhat much older version of what Flux is.
It never really took off (same as Django-Grapelli), never got official support that I know of (ie: something like being offered keynote on a recurring basis) and is now relegated to support Django 2.x at most (last time I checked)
